Carroll County Middle School hosted a Veterans Day ceremony today with the Rev. Chris White as the keynote speaker. Spectators also watched a slide show highlighting veterans who are related to students and staff. ❤️🤍💙

Volunteers Alice Marsh, Michelle Stewart and Janice Loveless worked in the Carroll County Middle School food pantry to organize items following a large donation from the Family Worship Center. 🙌💙
The district, as a whole, received approximately 4,402 items valued at $1,500. 🛒💰Those items were distributed among the schools for their school-level food pantries, which are used to fill Backpack Buddies and provide any other food assistance that students need. 🎒🥫Thank you to the generous community partners at Family Worship Center. 🙏⛪

🌿 Fifth graders spent time learning in the outdoor classroom at Camp KYSOC recently.
As part of their social studies unit, students used only natural materials they found on the ground, nothing living, to build miniature versions of Native American homes. 🍂

Most groups created small teepees using twigs, leaves and moss. 🏕️
It was a simple, hands-on way to connect their lesson to the outdoors. 🌳📚

Yesterday, the Panther Store employees stayed after school to prepare new purchasable (with PBIS points) experiences. They also began taking inventory for the upcoming Holiday Bazaar.

On Thursdays, high school band students come over to CCMS to teach our middle school band students. This is available to all sixth, seventh, and eighth grade band students, and it is a great opportunity to get lessons from experienced musicians.

🧩🔐 Carroll County Middle School students in the gifted and talented program are hard at work designing their very own escape rooms! 🎉

Soon, our fifth and sixth graders will get to test out the seventh and eighth grade creations and vote for their favorite! 🗳️✨

Some groups are even taking it digital 💻 by building virtual escapes packed with creativity, storylines, and at least three tricky challenges to solve! 🕵️‍♀️🗝️

We had a lot of fun this morning celebrating student achievements at today’s House Assembly. We recognized our Students of the Month, students who had accomplishments in both iReady Reading and Math, and our students who won the Positive Office Referral drawing. Students, Kenleigh Proctor and Zoey Contreras Glahn gave a brief presentation discussing the negative effects of bullying. The Line Dancing Club and the combined seventh and eighth grade bands gave some wonderful performances. Our House Assembly concluded with a “Halloween Gauntlet”, where students had to work together to complete a series of Halloween related challenges. Although all of the houses tried their best and belted out their house chants, Isibindi, the green house, won the gauntlet! Way to go Isibindi!

Today at CCMS we say goodbye to one of our custodians, Ms. JoAnn Snow, as she embarks on a new adventure in life. Though we will miss seeing her smiling face around the school, we wish JoAnn a wonderful retirement. Thank you JoAnn for your years of service and dedication to our staff and students.
