Over the summer our maintenance team worked hard to construct the new and improved Panther Store here at Carroll County Middle School. Ms. Carmen Simo-Perkins has also been working hard getting the store ready for students. A store isn’t complete without employees though. Kelsey Hash and Mason Roberts, both in the Eighth grade, are returning to their jobs this school year, but there are five more positions available. Seventh and Eighth grade students can apply to work at the Panther Store. Students who are interested can pick up applications from the front office. Applications are due by Tuesday August 19th. Interviews for Seventh Grade students will be held on August 20th and 21st. Interviews for Eighth Grade students will be held on August 25th and 26th.

Mr. Roberts utilizes a variety of Brain Breaks in his classroom. These Brain Breaks help his students by allowing them to focus on something other than their school work for a brief moment. Today the students played a game Mr. Roberts is very passionate about, Simon Says. Mr. Roberts plays the game in a way that keeps the students alert. They have to think quickly and critically about the instructions they receive. Winners of the game receive extra PBIS points as a reward for their effort and success.

Today at Carroll County Middle School our students and staff participated in our first House Assembly of the year. The students spent the first part of the morning becoming familiar with their houses. Afterwards, all of the students gathered in the gym and showed off their house cheers. We’re looking forward to having more time to learn and grow with our houses this year.

Panther families, we need your help to keep vital resources flowing into our schools. Before the new year begins, please take a few moments to complete the Household Income Form. Even though all Carroll County students receive free meals through the Community Eligibility Program, this form is still essential because it determines whether students qualify for free or reduced fees on things like courses and computer use. More importantly, it helps secure critical funding for programs like Title I and the Family Resources Youth Services Center (FRYSC), which supports our students every day. Submitting your form early not only benefits the district, but also saves our FRYSC team valuable time tracking down paperwork later. Thank you for making a difference!
