The final showing of A Voice in the Dark: A Salem Story begins at 6 p.m. The CCHS theatre is presenting the historical drama about the Salem Witch Trials. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at the door.

The comment and review period for a proposed science instructional resource is open. Anyone is welcome to review the documentation at the board of education, 813 Hawkins Street.

Students who do not ride a school bus daily practiced evacuation drills last week. This drill related to the side evacuation. Other drills are held throughout the year for the other exits. We promise it wasn't nearly as scary as Cloie McGuire makes it look!

Parent Nominations for the 2024-2025 Site-Based Decision Making Council are now open.
Two parents and one minority representative will be elected to the council. Nominations can be made in person at CCHS office or emailed to richelle.wheeler@carroll.kyschools.us from April 17-25.
Votes will be cast on April 26, either online or at the high school.
A “parent” means a parent, stepparent, or foster parent. Guardians also qualify as parents if the student lives with them and they have a court order giving them legal custody. A parent council member must be the parent of a student pre-registered to attend the school during the parent's term of council service.
Three groups of people may not serve on the council as parent representatives: Employees of Carroll County High School or their relatives (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife); Employees in the district administrative offices or their relatives (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife) or members of the Board of Education or their spouses.


CCHS science students showed their mastery of Newton's first law of motion by creating a system to protect an egg using any materials they chose. The egg was dropped approximately 20 feet and students had to reflect on their success and failure. (Photos courtesy of Mariah Adair.)

Carroll County Schools will hose renowned speaker Michael De Leon on April 18 to discuss the dangers of youth vaping. He will visit each school and will host a community event at 6 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Door prizes, including two 50-inch TVs, will be given away!
