Craig Joins Carroll County High School as Assistant Principal Craig

Mr. David Craig was named the new Assistant Principal for CCHS in July of 2022. “We welcome David Craig back to Carroll County High School. His knowledge of and relationship with the students, parents and faculty of CCHS will be a valuable asset to the high school achieving the vision and goals set by Ms. Sutter.” says Casey Jaynes, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools.

Walker Joins District as Director of Special Education Walker

Mr. Matt Walker has been named the new Director of Special Education on August 1, 2022. “We welcome Matt Walker to Carroll County Schools. We believe that during the recruitment, research and interview process that Mr. Walker will be a great asset to the faculty, staff and most importantly the students of Carroll County.” says Casey Jaynes, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools. “His background knowledge and experience in special education brings a great overall perspective to our school district team.” 

Anderson Joins District as Lady Panthers Coach Anderson

Mr. Scott Anderson has been named the new Head Coach of Carroll County High School Lady Panther Basketball program in July.. “We welcome Coach Anderson to Carroll County Schools. His passion for students shows in both his experience in working with student athletes and from discussions with him about his new role.” said Casey Jaynes, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools.

Sutter returns to CCHS as principal

Carrollton, Ky. – July 29, 2022 - Amy Sutter is returning to Carroll County High School as principal. Sutter previously served the Carroll County School District and the high school as an assistant principal in addition to also leading the upper grades alternative school.

Yager moves to AP role at CCMS Will Yager

Carrollton, Ky. – July 7, 2022 - New CCMS principal Robin Stephenson has selected Will Yager to be the next assistant principal of Carroll County Middle School. Yager has served in the Carroll County School District since 2015, when he began his teaching career as a Project-Based Learning Teacher at Carroll County Middle School.

Morris-Dean to lead technology dept. Zachary Morris-Dean

Carrollton, Ky. – June 27, 2022 – Zachary Morris-Dean is returning to the Carroll County School District in the district technology coordinator role, having previously served as network administrator from 2012 – 2021. He is taking on the position from Robin Stephenson, who is the new principal of Carroll County Middle School.

 

“We are thrilled to have Mr. Morris-Dean returning to the school district in this role,” said Incoming Superintendent Casey Jaynes. “He is an incredible technology leader in the state, who has only sharpened his skills further with recent private sector experience. This is a big win for our students, our staff, and our community.”

Coach Mark Smith to lead Panthers soccer Mark Smith

Carrollton, Ky. – June 23, 2022 – After years of success as a club and middle school soccer coach, Mark Smith will lead the Carroll County High School soccer program this year. Smith has coached at the club level with Shelby Xtreme, leading teams to Kentucky Select Soccer League championships and with River Valley Futbol Club, leading teams to League Championships and winning State Cups with 14u teams in 2019, 2020, and 2021. At the school level, Smith coached the Carroll County Middle School soccer team for four years, compiling a record of 26-4-2, including back-to-back undefeated seasons and back-to-back conference championships.

Legion boosts effort to improve Cartmell playground Legion presents check to Cartmell

Carrollton, Ky. – June 22, 2022 – With a $2,500 donation, American Legion Post 41 is helping Cartmell Elementary make its playground more inclusive, fun and safe. Additionally, thanks to the City of Carrollton allowing Cartmell to make an application in its stead for a Land Water Conservation Grant, donations toward the playground are matched dollar-for-dollar, up to a total expenditure of $80,000. Therefore, the Legion’s $2,500 donation will have a $5,000 impact.

Carrollton, Ky. - June 6, 2022 - At a special-called June 3 meeting, the Carroll County Middle School Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council selected Dr. Robin Stephenson as the next principal of Carroll County Middle School. Stephenson recently served as district technology coordinator for the Carroll County School District. Before that, she served as the assistant principal of Cartmell Elementary.

Board approves 2% raises for all staff, Moves forward with CCHS Baseball/Softball restroom project

Carrollton, Ky. — April 22, 2022 — At its April 21 meeting, the Carroll County Board of Education approved a 2% raise for all certified and classified Carroll County School District employees, in addition to the step increase employees receive for each year of service. Also, in an effort to bring the district’s salary schedule in line with surrounding school districts, some classified positions in the district were also increased beyond that to make them more comparable to what surrounding districts pay. This is one of the largest raises the district has given to employees in recent years, with typical annual raises hovering around 1%.

Carrollton, Ky. – March 31, 2022 - Roger Harden was the 1982 Indiana Mr. Basketball, a Parade All-American, a McDonalds All-American, a Scholastic Coach All-American, a 1985-86 Third-Team All-SEC player, and a 1986 NBA draft pick for the Los Angeles Lakers. Recently, he finished a five-year stay as the head boys basketball coach at Williamstown High School. Now, he is a Carroll County Panther.

District selected for inclusion in Innovative Learning Network

Carrollton, Ky. - January 26, 2022 - The Carroll County School District has been selected to participate in the Kentucky Innovative Learning Network through the Kentucky Department of Education. The program allows district administrators to collaborate with other school administrators from across the state to share innovative strategies and tactics that lead to "learner-centered, collaborative, equitable, and authentic learning opportunities." Participating districts have access to national educational partners as well as funds that can be used to visit exemplary school districts.
